5th Anniversary

5th Anniversary

Where did 5 years go??? It’s that long since I went freelance and seem to be doing OK with some great project work in 2018.

With a diverse range of repeat clients  it makes life interesting!

2017 saw a trip to South Africa where will I go in 2018?

Hedgehog in the greenery

The leaves are falling, the nights are drawing in, but there’s still work to be done.

Earlier this month was a really proud moment when the WHO Standards for Prosthetics and Orthotics were published. About 4 years ago I was asked to do some searching for the initial proposal for these by Sandy Sexton of Rehab Skills and then as the years progressed was involved in the proof-reading of them. Whilst only a small input it’s great to see them published knowing they will inform policies and change lives.

Currently I have several exciting projects underway including searching for research and papers for a project in Vietnam. Another success has been in managing using ipads at a memory cafe once a month as a trial and now extended into the New Year.

Spring has sprung…

Spring has sprung…

Spring has definitely sprung and I’m enjoying working on a variety of different projects for non-profit organisations – ranging from web design, to social media to scoping out an IT project aimed at people with dementia.

Life in the freelance lane is roaring along….

Winter is here…

Yes, it’s slightly colder but working well here…

Delighted to be working on several websites – including launches in the New Year of the Alice Cross Centre in Teignmouth and a new one for Dawlish Celebrates Carnival!

Also working on the social media  Dawlish Walking Festival 2017! Going to be a busy year!

Arts Festival is a go!

23rd April 2016 will see the launch of Dawlish Arts Festival website up until the end of the Festival in early June. Tickets can be bought online!

Other websites under development or in the planning stage.

Workshops planned for May, June and September this year in Dawlish.

Winter 2016

We are currently working on a new website and database for the Dawlish World War One project.

We are also running free workshops on creating websites for community groups in March 2016.

Busy summer heading into autumn….

Over the summer and into September the  last two IT training workshops under a Devon Community Foundation Grant to Open DAW were delivered. The final evaluation report is currently being written. Plans are underway for two workshops under a separate grant for helping community groups create their own websites.

Two more electronic community screens went live in Teignmouth and Dawlish. Feedback has been great! More and more posters on events are coming in each month.

Open DAW (Dawlish Community Information Centre) enquiry work and ongoing work at Torbay Hospital Library have been keeping me occupied on a regular basis.

We have also been working on a new contract for creating the Dawlish World War One Project website which commemorates those who died or were casualties in the First World War and came from Dawlish, Holcombe and Cofton. Current work is on the database and finalising the graphical design.

On the voluntary basis I have become a Trustee for Dawlish Arts Festival and produced a newsletter for PORT-ER in the last week or so.

So roll on the autumn!
